Golden Gulls Senior Committee Meeting

Sept. 20, 2021

Location: Town Hall

  1. Call To Order
  2. Motion to adopt last moths minutes accepted
  3. Agreed that our Face Book group needs to be Public, not private. June will create a new group, that is the only way to do it on FB and she will alert us to when this is available to join. It was also discussed that some events will only be for Point Pleasant Beach Senior Residents and it will be VERY important that this is stated clearly on all advertising of the event.
  4. Boat Trip Recap
  • Net Profit-$2,400
  • #people/tix sold=90
  • $50/50=$600 $325 to winner
  • Suggested improvements if we do next year: arrive in a timely manner, better communication about when

fireworks go off, where boat will travel to etc., specific team leads/assignments, equal portion of pizza and

water on each level.

  1. Seafood Festival Recap
  • Run by the Chamber of Commerce who gave us a free table in exchange for volunteers to work as guards to

entrances to parking lots so people would not leave with alcohol. We collected $52 in donations. We gave

11 flyers out for our Spa day event. We learned that we are missing some seniors that live in homes that are

owned by their children.  Discussed how we can make better use of the Seafood Festival next year,

ideas passed around. Need to start planning early.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE VOLUNTEERS!!

event. Theresa will speak with Kelly.

  1. Membership Update
  • We need to keep 2 lists as a group: Members List and B. Contact List (People who would like to know

when things are going on)

  • To become a member: Go to town website, go to down to volunteer application on the very bottom in the

dark blue area, write in Senior Committee, save, submit and at the next council meeting they will vote.
