Obtaining a Certificate of Domestic Partnership

Who Should Apply in Point Pleasant Beach

Must be 62 years of age or over

AND

Residents of the State of New Jersey

OR

At least one partner is a member of a New Jersey State Pension System

Application Requirements

  1. Both partners must provide proof of identity
  2. Both partners must provide proof of age
  3. Proof of common residence
  4. Proof of joint responsibility for each other’s common welfare
    through one of the following:

    1. Joint deed, mortgage agreement or lease
    2. Joint bank account
    3. Designation of one of the persons as primary beneficiary in the other person’s will
    4. Designation of one of the persons as primary beneficiary in the other person’s life insurance policy or retirement plan; or
    5. Joint ownership of a motor vehicle
  5. $28.00 Exact Change or Check Application Fee
  6. $25.00 Exact Change or Check for first certificate and $3.00 for each additional Certificate
  7. Neither partner has legally terminated a domestic partnership with another individual within the last 180 days
