GOLDEN GULLS MINUTE 6/20/22

 

 

  • May meeting minutes voted on and approved
  • Point Beach Library Guest speakers: Matt Wilberg and Mary Steiner

-Library card gives you access to books, audio and e-books etc.

-Computer and technology assistance available

-Movie and TV show services

-Ocean County has 21 branches and you can check out and return to

any branch

-Reciprocal agreement with some Monmouth branches. Go in and

get a Monmouth Library card to expand choices.

-Many programs:  for children, book clubs, author talks,

music/instruments, mtg room available during day with approval

-The building is owned and managed by a local group of volunteers

-Go on Ocean County Library Events Calendar

-June 25th Meditation program

-Legal forms (no advice) at Toms River Library

-Late October Neil Diamond Program-good for Seniors

-There is a summer reading book club

  • Greg gave Treasurer update. Awaiting town $ allotment
  • June gave ICE update-all materials ready to be put together. Date and Time is Monday June 27th 1pm Arnold Ave firehouse. Hope to distribute ICE materials at upcoming programs….Arts Beach Party, July Ice Cream Social and other soon to be planned gatherings. 1 goal is to get updated contact information for Seniors so that the town has current information. Discussion started on alternative place to windows for ICE window sticker.
  • Yes vote from all to purchase ICE pops at upcoming Therapy Dog program. June will be attending,
  • Greg gave update on June 22 Casino Trip.
  • All of our events have been submitted and approved except for the Aug Fireworks boat trip
  • July 12 Ice Cream Social at Firehouse 1-3pm. Will show film on History of Point Peasant Beach and Joe T and Dino will kick off the program with some songs. An email will go out to ask Volunteers to bring ice cream toppings. Ice Cream from Hoffman’s.
  • Microphone/audio system purchased from Ocean County Music in Point Pleasant Beach and we were thankful for the guidance and discount.
  • We will have a little talent show at the Arts sponsored Town Beach party on Bay Ave on July 21st at 4pm.

 

NEXT MEEING JULY 12 7PM TOWN HALL
