Golden Gulls – Senior committee meeting

Meeting called to order 7:05 pm by Theresa Dosch
Wrap up discussion on Aug 6-2021 First Friday event. A list of observations was made by the committee which will be presented to the C Riehl to benefit future committee hosts of First Friday events.
Fundraiser Boat trip – scheduled for Sept 2 details were finalized. Refreshment – Entertainment – Funding – and paper supply details were assigned . Final tally of ticket receipts and headcount to be provided by Caryn Byrnes who was not in attendance.
Senior Bulletin reviewed with event dates and detail. This bulletin will be mailed with the town tax mailing Aug 20th and has been provided to Christine Riehl. Committee discussed making a Senior bulletin a monthly or quarterly publication and options for distribution.
Mayor received a litter from a Point Boro resident requesting to join the Senior committee and to possibly make a contribution . Committee discussed current out of town members, and how to respond to the request. June Cuzzo will meet with the Christine Riehl to discuss what governs committee membership and report back to the committee for final decisions. Final vote tabled until the next meeting.
Future events discussed and suggestions were made including:
Spaghetti dinner
Valentines Dance
Giving dinner baskets for Thanksgiving to Seniors who are alone or shut in.
Subcommittees were introduced and partially staffed
Fundraising – Beverly and Stephanie
Hospitality – Traci – Mary – Joan and MaryJane
Transportation – Peter and Cornelia
Other subcommittees may be needed and will be formed as needed.
Other Business:
Theresa has arranged for Seniors to join the Glorious Years group Bus Trips to AC when space is available. She will coordinate with St Peters and also research if they have any senior shut – ins that may want a dinner delivered for Thanksgiving.
