Golden Gulls Meeting Monday, April 18th, 2022

 

 

  1. Sign in, March 22nd meeting minutes voted on and approved
  2. Guest speaker Cathy Sagorka from the Green Team presented the work that her group does and how we can get involved. Anyone can be a contributor, even to a very small part of the project, which is all a part of the Rutgers Project SustainableJersey.com. They meet the 4th Thursday of each month in the same room we meet in. Point Pleasant Beach reached Bronze level in 2021!!
  3. Treasurer Report-A few receipts are outstanding from the Fashion Show but everything is looking good.
  4. Fashion Show– A huge Thank you to everyone that made this event a big success. There are way too many people to thank individually but you were all so appreciated. Adriane will send Thank you cards out to the people who donated baskets etc. We discussed many things we can change next year to help it run more smoothly and have less waste, since it seems like it will be one of our main events each year. We all agreed to change the name and make it more inclusive to men. Adriane will make a list of the discussed suggested changes and have June send it out to the committee list so we can get feedback to have on record for planning purposes next year. Lots of people in town talking about it, lots of Thank you phone calls and a great article in the Ocean Star!!
  5. June 22nd we will be running a bus trip to Windcreek Bethlehem Casino in PA, formerly the Sands Casino. Same distance as Atlantic City. Meet at St. Peters at 8:30am, leaves at 9am, cost $30 with $30 in slot comps per person. Bus holds 49. No refunds after June 15th. Contact Greg for tickets.
  6. Community Beach Party in Town July 21st-would like us to attend and need some singers!
  7. New Committee Rules-June gave an update and based on that we agreed on a tentative calendar going forward that June will review with Caryn.
  8. Our First Friday is May 6th–Theresa is the Lead and will have a table. We would like everyone’s support by coming to town that evening. The Chamber does the advertising for this event.
  9. The Arts Committee is having an online Poetry Contest if anyone would like to enter
  10. The Director of the Point Pleasant Beach Library can come speak to us on May 16th at our meeting or to our Seniors at one of our Events to let us know what type of things they have going on each month.
