Meeting Discussion:
The meeting opened at 7:25 PM.
Barbara Seaman has been appointed to the Committee as a new member.
The minutes of the July 22 meeting were approved.
At tomorrow night’s Board of Education meeting the requested time slots for
the Basketball Program will be reviewed for authorization. The Program will be about
6 hours a week of court time short. Glen Paesano will request time until 5 PM on
Saturdays as well as time on Sundays. Joe Fitzsimmons will be Program Director
and work with the Antrim Athletic Director to coordinate court times. Matt Nagle will
also apply to use outdoor courts. Saturday signups will be from 9 – 11:30 AM on
October 5, 19, and 26. Joe Fitzsimmons will coordinate with Committee assistance.
One weekday signup will be held on October 24 after school.
Background checks may be a problem. Chief O’Hara has indicated he doesn’t
have the staff or funding to pay for it. He has suggested that volunteer funding might
be needed.
Glen Paesano will ask Joanna Douglas to provide the Committee with a report
on the Summer Recreation Program.
The Committee will again support the Christmas Tree Lighting Project. Last
year we spent about $1400 on a bouncy house, cotton candy machine etc..
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
