COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

  • Executive reports –
    1. Chairperson Lauren Schule
      • DPW breakfast to thank them for their help. A big success with good attendance.
      • Pet Parade being moved to next week bd of the weather.
      • My Rec is up. Training is not live yet but you can create an account.
    2. Correspondence/Social Media Samantha Berry
  • Creating a newsletter for those that don’t have social media.
  • Working on an email list.
  • Will be using the pictures from Photo Circle.
  • Since last month, we have doubled the number of accounts that we reach
    1. Treasurer Rob Mercado
      • We have had a positive year.
      • We don’t have a final number from the Tug, but we are in the positive without that.
      • Most events are green.
    2. Council Liaison Report Doug Vitale
  • The Tug was a great event. We had more people attend on our side.
  • We are adding lights along the perimeter of Pleasure Park. Poles are being added on Trenton and Forman.  The lights will be on a timer.
  • Non Verbal Sign will be put up soon.
  • The goal is to continue to enhance Pleasure Park.
  • Would like a push to increase PPBRC members.

 

  • Subcommittee reports
    1. Manasquan Inlet Tug of War                                                 Ryan Simunovich
  • We spent over 10k on T Shirts – we will bid this out next year.
  • We will start planning for next year after the holidays.
  • We will limit it to 15 vendors next year.
  • Looking to close the road to make it easier to separate the crowds from the Tug Teams.
  • Looking into setting this as a fixed day each year (perhaps the Sunday of Columbus Day).
  • Next Year we will limit it to 9 Tugs.
  • We will be adding officials to each side.
  • We need a large screen
  • Make-A-Wish raised 22-28k.
    1. Tricks & Treats Pet Parade (Homegrown) Liz Gross
  • Registration is still open.

    2. Basketball Katie DiCorcia
  • Registration and graphics are completed.
  • 40 kids.
  • 11/21 we will close registration.
  • The sessions will be 12/10 – 3/15.
  • Adding a Mayor Game in PPB.
  • Coach Fee was reduced from $1000 to $500

  • Tanks will have NJ College Names.

 

  1. Winter Wonderland Barbara, Liz, Doug, Joe, Steve, Laura, Lauren
  • It will be held on 12/10 at Pleasure Park
  • We have fake snow
  • The Reindeers were sent the PO
  • Ice Sculpture was hired. Doug is checking with DPW re: a trailer to put the sculpture on.
  • Erin has singers that can come.
  • Kelly got the HS choir. And Joe got the Golden Gulls
  • Joe got blow up holiday displays.
  • Liz bought a mailbox for the letters to Santa.
  • Instead of a movie, we will live stream youtube.
  • Adding 2 vendors for food; the Greek and Soup.
  • Candy canes will line the entrance to try and direct people to the PPB table.

 

  1. Holiday Lights Contest Liz Gross & Kieran Schultz, Laura, Lauren
    • Rec members will vote on 12/15, Meeting at the BoatYard and then going by trolley.
    • Liz will be adding a voting system so that people can drive around and place3 a vote.
    • There will different categories for judging. $50 cards for winner and a yard sign.
    • Will place a Toys For Tots box for donations
    • Adding a decorated car category
    • You can write in houses that may not have registered but have decorated.
    • It weas suggested that we move this to Sunday.

    • We need to encourage houses to join,.
    • Selling goody bags?
    • Discussing adding trophies.
  2. Show Us Your Heart Erin Leahey
    • Erin will be the new lead.
    • Sub Committee; Danielle, Joe and Angela?
  3. Sham-Rock Scavenger Hunt Bill Schule
    • Bill Schule is taking the lead for this event.
  4. Pickleball Tony Novo
    • We have a few weeks left, and then the courts will be available for open play.

    • The biggest name will be at the band shell.
    • Doug is looking for houses to join.
    • Erin asked for all to share any bands that they may know.
    • Checking to see if Insurance is needed.

    • Decided to have this is the spring since the fall cale4ndar is already full
    • May make this a charity event to help raise money.
    • May add this to the spring since the fall calendar is packed.
