      • Recreation Committee Member Review.

We will email those that are not attending meetings

Vote on Active Member Status:

  1. Members must be present 7 of the 12 monthly meetings
  2. Members must be on at least one sub committee
  3. Members must volunteer for at least one event.

  • Approval of My Rec Credit for members. $100 for members, $50 for non-members.

Next year, members would need to satisfy “Active Status” to receive this credit.

  • Cancellation Policy for camp/sports programs.

You can cancel if it is before the season begins and if the spot can be filled.

There will be no credit after the season begins.

  • Adding a late registration fee

10% if after the registration period ends.

  • Groom O’Ween Had a great turn out
  • Pet Parade had 30 entrees. We have a lot of good feedback and some suggestions for next year.
  • Non Verbal Sign has been installed at Pleasure Park. This was reported in the Ocean Star.
  • Board-Dash We will donate to their raffles in the future.
  • Rec Committee Swag – Hoodies and hats are in and distributed.
  • Trailer is in. We will be adding our logo to the side. It is parked at PW.
  • By-laws. We checked to make sure that all members have signed this.
  • New Member Update; A new push will be made after the holidays.  A huge thank you to Doug Vitale for his help with the new member recruiting.

 

 

 

  1. Correspondence/Social Media Samantha Berry
    • Samantha Berry is collecting pictures and videos. Barbara Palombo to make Samantha the administrator on PhotoCircle.
  2. Treasurer Rob Mercado
    • We are running well with a profit in 2022 even after some large one time expenses.
  3. Council Liaison Report                                                 Doug Vitale
  • Boat Year Party; the town declined this being funded by the committee. It will be $50 per person.
  • Pleasure Park Lights will be installed.
  • Looking into a new structure in the park.
  • Bandshell; we will be cutting down all of the weeds that block the lake. We are looking into potentially adding a dock so that we can hold events there.
  • Working on a new member push.

 

  • Subcommittee reports
    1. Basketball Katie DiCorcia
  • Registration has grown. We are at 190 enrolled.   Last year there were 140.
  • Working with coaches to have this be set up more like a league structure (as opposed to just a rec league).
  • Coach Fee was reduced to $500

  • We need insurance for the reindeers.
  • The high school band will not be able to perform.
  • The Golden Gulls can be there at 5:00.
  • We need more wrapped boxes.
  • We will have two bubble machines
  • We have Santa’s Mailbox (thanks to Liz Gross)
  • We will sell popcorn and foam lights.
  • Kelly McGee got us 3 Jersey Mike Gift Cards;
  • We had 2 $10 Opal&Olive gift cards from a past event.
  • Joe Siekel will check on the Toys For Tots box and the marine.
  • We need someone to go to Walmart to pick up the pop corn and hotdogs.
  • We purchased 300 glow-foam sticks.

 

  1. Holiday Lights Contest Liz Gross & Kieran Schultz, Laura, Lauren
  • There will be no fees for houses to join
  • There will be $10 fee per car.
  • We will have boxes for Toys for Tots and a food drive.
  • The Rec Committee Trolley ride will be on 12/15.
  • There will be 4 house winners; each will get $50 and their name on our new plaque in town hall.
  • There will be car winners.
  • Goody bags and a map will be given out to cars at the bandshell.
  • 11 houses have signed up so far. 10 cars have registered.

 

 

  1. Show Us Your Heart Erin Leahey
    • This will be on 2/11; 12:00-2:30.
    • Rain Date is 2/12
    • It will start at the Bam Bam parking lot.
    • Lauren is submitting the paperwork to the town.
    • There will be crafts and a bingo card.
    • It will be $5 per child. Each will get a prize bag.

    • Bill Schule is taking the lead for this event.

      • The biggest name will be at the band shell.

    • This will be held 9/24.
    • Entrees will decorate an inner tube and perform a relay race in the water.
    • There will be a $35 entry fee.
    • Participants must vbe 12 years or older.
    • We will need Coast Guard approval.

  • Lou is speaking with a company about providing boards and bags.
  • Would like to have two events this year, one in the beginning of the summer and one at the end.
