Minutes for Point Pleasant Beach, NJ Recreation Committee

Today’s meeting was limited to or dedicated to this year’s PPB recreation summer park program.
First accomplished…the returning camp director Kerri Savage attended the meeting so we can discuss applications, scheduling, do’s and don’ts/like first aid and cpr requirements, advertising and budget.
Sign up dates to be held at the pleasure park on Sunday May 29 and June 16th and 2 sign ups at the Antrim school on Tues June 18th and Thurs June 24th. First 2 sign ups will be dedicated to point Pleasant beach residents only…the last 2 sign up dates will be open to surrounding towns.
This year’s suggested camp fees of 200.00 per child..no discounted rate, late fee 35.00
Following salaries…
Director 3250
2 asst. directors 1850
6 head counselors 1650
8 counselors 1500
(On a needed basis)
Advertising…Kerri created flyer to be used. Flyer to be sent to town website and Antrim school and to the Ocean star.
Kerri suggested ways to increase participation and save money.
She suggested a free lunch Wednesday for the camp. (Carolan will be looking for local restaurants to donate lunches on Wednesdays).
Kerri suggested to get the t-shirts donated…(Janice suggested using our Antrim art teacher to get a t-shirt art contest going. Which in turn will bring about more participation).
Summer surf camp all set and ready by Janice Apeollo.
Votes passed, everyone in favor…for camp fee and salaries.

Kerri Savage is an asset to our program.
