Minutes from May 14, 2019 Recreation Meeting

Meeting was called to order at 7:05 by Carolan Ammirata
Old Business:
*Surf Camp- to held 6/24-6/28. Scott Crowley is working on the hold harless and submitting the special event application.
*Best Day
All is on target for the July 13/14 event that will be held at NJ Ave Beach. Pat Cavanagh will get approval from the town for a just in case situation so we can use Maryland Ave if needed. Working on the special event application
*Bonfire
Sat, Sept 7 is the date for this event with a rain date of Sept 8. Doug Vitale is heading this event. He will get town approval for the Bonfire.
*Family Fishing
We do not have a date for this event as of yet, sometime after Labor Day and the Seafood Festival was discussed. John Babbinni is heading this event. Once date is decided he will get the approval from the town.
*Tug of War
Bob Santanello is the Town Representative for this event that will be held Saturday, October 12. No new information at this time. Bob Santanello will fine the special event application.
*Pleasure Park Rec Camp
-Molly Schaller was nominated to be our director by John Babbini, Debra Bodine-Vazquez seconded the nomination. All voted Yes for approval. We are not yet sure of the team that will be working this event, Molly will send a list to the board for approval so it can be approved at our next meeting on June 11.
-Due to the added week and longer hours when campers attend the Breakwater Beach event a 10% increase in counselors salaries from last year. Debra Bodine-Vazquez put forth the motion, seconded by Pat Cavanagh. All voted Yes to this motion.
-camp fee was raised to $250.00 from the $225.00 last year due to the added week. There will be a $25.00 late fee after June 22.
-Artwork for t-shirts is ready and Carolan Ammirata will pick this up from Antrim Art Dept. Possible printers are Dr. T-Shirt in Manasquan or Beach Graffiti (Brain Kearney 732-208-6367)
-Sign Ups are being held at Antrim May 15, and May 29 (with Debra Bodine-Vazquez), June 8 and 22 at Pleasure Park (with Molly Schaller).
-Molly Schaller will be given keys to the shed, so she is able to check on supplies, along with anything else she may need to have a great camp this session.
New Business:
*Beach YOGA
Carolan Ammirata will head this program. The yoga program will be run the Rec Committee, but payment for the program will still need to be determined. Classes will be held on Maryland Ave Beach. Aqua Surf will need to give permission to use the beach. There will be both adult classes (beach) and Children classes (studio). Nicky Schotz of Joyful Living Yoga (Arnold Ave) in town is working with Carolan on these classes.
Our next meeting will be an emergency meeting to approve counselors for summer camp on Tuesday, June 11 at 7:00. Followed by our regular meeting to be held on Monday, June 24 at 6:30
Doug Vitale motion to close this meeting at 7:45, it was seconded by John Babbini.
