    1. Chairperson report
      1. Lauren Schule provided updates
      2. Vote for three additional scholarships in the amount of $375 each for Park 2023 for 1) Hadley Auwaerter, 2) Tyler Auwaerter, 3) Quinn Auwaerter
        1. 1st Laura Kurmin, 2nd Bob Morrisey, Unanimous
      3. Vote to move Park 2023 counselor training to Tues, 6/27 and Wed, 6/28, and Thurs 6/29 as if needed, due to scheduling conflicts of the new camp director. No time changes needed.

      4. Congrats to Doug Vitale on winning the Primary
      5. Rec volunteer names are now off the state financial document roster
      6. Battle of Bands – Thanks to everyone. Made about $700, (approx. $500 in t-shirts and such $300 from chamber)
      7. Skatepark lessons – 8 registered, 5 in beginner started already
      8. Football Camp – registration started, 66 registered. Started today (6/26).  Joe Leone and Jersey Mike’s donating sandwiches for camp
      9. A replacement fridge is needed for the shed as the other one needed to be thrown out by DPW. Dave Betten has a fridge he can donate to the shed just needs someone to come get it, Tony Novo and Lauren Schule may have an option as well.
    2. Correspondence/Social Media
      1. Samantha Berry not present but Lauren Schule provided updates
        1. Question brought up if we should keep printing the Newsletter. Still going to print so those without social media can still get it
        2. Unanswered questions: Where is he going to be next?? Do we want to bring him to a concert series or wait until the Tug?
      2. Recording Secretary & Corresponding Secretary Update
        1. Barbara Palomba not present.
        2. Laura Kurmin present, but has no updates
        3. Liz Gross mentioned multiple emails were sent about events in a small amount of time. Laura Kurmin confirmed we can schedule better.
      3. New Member Updates
        1. Liz Gross provided updates
        2. Ryan Simunovich put his application back in
        3. Joanne Oleski may be coming back
        4. Would like to send another email to those that quit again in August before the Tug, hoping to bring people back.
        5. Angela Davies suggested we can include people that have rejoined to show support
      4. Treasurer Updates

        2. We are a week behind on receipts, please send any open receipts to him
        3. Summer camp registration open so right now we are +$63K but we have lots of expenses going to hit soon
        4. We are halfway to what we had for camper registrations last year
        5. If we got no new campers from this point now we would still break even
        6. Lost one counselor but with the number of registrants we should be fine not hiring a replacement
        7. Increased prices caused more out of towners to not register (full time members only though, not a weekly registration)
      5. Council Liaison Report

        2. Thanked Erica Susko for volunteering to become a co-chair
        3. Thanked everyone for stepping up to vote and support Doug Vitale
        4. Pleasure Park shed is infested with mice and they ate all the chips/snacks, so we have to be cognizant of putting “food” in shed, exterminator coming
        5. Black fencing will be going up in Pleasure Park to replace current fencing
        6. Open Space recommended asking owners of 419 Trenton Ave property if they want to sell and how much would they ask. If they are not interested there is a recommendation to ask for the first right of refusal.
        7. The town received 3 more applications for benches in Pleasure Park
        8. Rob Mercado asked if we could recommend they fence in Pleasure Park completely while we’re-fence the current fencing.
        9. Middle basketball court is being brought up for refinishing but it would most likely be town funds not Recreation funds.
        10. Pickleball is in need of storage bins and Dave Betten offered to go up to Jenks to see if he can get a price on the bins that they use to see if we can use them for Pleasure Park as well

            2. 8 registered, 5 in beginner started already
          3. Flag Football Camp

            2. 66 registered and it started today (6/26)
            3. Joe Leone and Jersey Mike’s donating sandwiches for camp
            4. Bought coaches small gifts as a thank you, 6 in total, to be given the last day of camp
          4. Ukulele/Guitar on the Beach
            1. Rob Mercado provided updates
            2. Registration is open
            3. 22 are registered, and we have 35 last year
            4. Asked for everyone to share on social media on other sites to bring registration up
            5. Starts July 10th
          5. Summer Camp
            1. Lauren Schule provided updates
            2. Buying breakfast for counselors for training tomorrow (6/27)
            3. One counselor quit but there doesn’t seem to be a need to replace as registration is also down from last year
            4. 91 residents registered, 30 non-residents and 1 weekly registered
            5. Outside trips are being worked on
            6. Supplies have been ordered and being organized by director and assist director
            7. Thanked Erica Susko for organizing the snacks
            8. Erica Susko offered to help pick up snacks if counselors run into issues
          6. Movement Club
            1. Erica Susko provided updates
            2. We are up to 8 walkers
            3. Thanked Erin Leahey for walking Thursday (6/21) with the group
            4. We need volunteers to walk because people walk at different speeds so it is important to not have anyone walk alone
            5. Tuesdays at 5pm and Wednesday at 8am at Jenks Inlet Bar & Grill currently, moving to Antrim track July 5th

          8. Summer Concert Series

            2. First concert is tomorrow (6/27)
            3. Event is 6:30-8:30, rain or shine
            4. Selling food tomorrow but other events will have vendors there
            5. Rob Mercado can come at 7ish to help volunteer
            6. Erica to drop off snacks and pizza (pick up) at 6:15
          9. Summer Jazz Ensemble
            1. Rob Mercado provided updates
            2. Last year we paid for sound and may have sold hot dogs
            3. Manasquan Music & Dance Academy (MMDA) found someone to do the sound for $650 and would like us to split the cost as it is well attended and shows off the facility
            4. Vote to split the $650 to share $325 each with MMDA and Recreation

          10. Wrestling (Summer)

            2. Registration is open and posted, but we only have 1 registered, so asked people share on social media

            4. Coach gets $1500 no matter how many people join and Spring training we are in the red for so we need 15 or more registrants to break even.

          11. Bags on the Beach

            2. Event is on Saturday Aug 26th
            3. “High-end” League will be run by a company and the “Backyard” League will  register through MyRec
            4. A company will be hired that can bring scoreboards and cornhole boards
          12. Seafood Fest 5K
            1. Erin Leahey provided updates
            2. “Hello Summer” discount didn’t work as well as hoped
            3. Memorial Day discount didn’t do as well as last year
            4. Potentially have flyers to hand out during the Chambers “Ladies Night” on Thursday 7/6
          13. Kids Inlet Fishing Derby

            2. Ryan Summunovich is planning on returning and will be working on this

              2. Requested storage bin for nets as it is currently up to Tony Novo and Chesla Wechsler to set up, take down and store stuff.
              3. Keys to the bathroom are being made by DPW but John Trout is currently out so no ETA
              4. Mike Dwyer and Giada Zuccet cover the second shift and Dave Betten offered to be a backup representative
              5. Point Beach and Point Borough basketball has now started and pickleball should have ownership, correct? There were lots of people (parents, kids and players) so Tony Novo didn’t say anything as he wasn’t sure of the usage.  Doug Vitale to follow up on rights to the basketball courts.

              2. Thanked Chris Bozadzis for all his work

              2. Arts in the Park Night

  • New Business
    1. Chris Kurmin will lead the new subcommittee for shed maintenance
      1. Chris Kurmin will lead and needs keys
    2. Erin Leahey suggested we have a registration table at the Seafood Fest
      1. Carol Vaccaro said we can have a table only if we can also provide volunteers for the table and the event
      2. Tony Novo and Erin Leahey both said they liked the idea.
      3. Patty Davies said she worked the table one year
      4. Bill Schule said we should just go to the event rather than have a table since most of the attendees are out of towners and we won’t get many new members
    3. Recommended we buy an 8’ tablecloth with our new logo
      1. Voted on a new 8’ tablecloth which will be $225 from All Points and it would be ready for the next concert

      2. Lauren Schule recommended we purchase long sleeves t-shirts with our new logo
        1. Voted to choose New Wave with new Rec Logo for $705 total

      4. Erica Susko recommended we have process documents for all events and positions and asked everyone to start thinking of what you do and how you do is

      5. Laura Kurmin asked if we can get some lists of extra groups on social media that we can push notifications to
        1. Lauren Schule to reach out to Sam Berry to see what she already shares to and asked if anyone else has groups they are on to share as well
      6. Chris Kurmin offered to donate some Christmas decorations to drop off for us to have for our holiday events
