Borough of Point Pleasant Beach Minutes of Recreation Meeting

Meeting called to order at 6:05 pm
Old Business
Best Day Program Update from Pat Cavanaugh (sent via email)
*Both days registration is closed
In attendance will be 45 ambulatory and 15 non-ambulatory participants
*106 volunteers for Saturday, 100 for Sunday. The goal is to have 150-160 for each day.
*Surf Taco will donate lunches for both days.
*Pat Cavanaugh still working on breakfast. He will reach out to Round Dough with a Hold,
Beach Bagel Trattoria and Top that Donuts.
*Brave New World will contribute to the goodie bags.
*Ocean Star will run a pre-event story.
*Insurance waiver is in place.
Summertime Surf Camp
Off to a good start. Camp started today, runs one week (6/25-29) from 1-4.
20 campers signed up which gives us a full camp.
Parks Recreation Camp
*Started today. We have 118 campers registered.
*St. Peters has graciously given “us” the key to the gym to use for rain dates again this year.
*Business who contributed for the camp t-shirts were:
Jenkinson's, Capt Bills, Diane Turton Realtors, Joe Leone, Surf Taco and Beach Bagel Trattoria.
*Antrim student Emilia Kozlowski won the art contest for the front of shirt design.
Recreational Wrestling Program
*Our summer wrestling program has been approved by the committee.
*Program will run from 7/9-9/1 2018 on Monday mornings from 9-10-30
Carolan introduced, seconded by Scott Crowley.
