Old Business:
-Best Day Program
Best Day was held on 7/7-7/8 was a success for our first year with the program. The event  ended up being held on Maryland Avenue beach instead of New York Ave.  The Chamber gave us the use of the trolley to shuttle people from parking lot to beach. There were plenty of volunteers to cover all that was needed.  On both days donations from Corner Bagel  for breakfast, Surf Taco for lunches took care of meals needed for event.

-Fall Bonfire
John Babbini has taken  charge of this event and is off to a great start.  It will be held on Saturday Sept 8, with a rain date of the 9th.  Issue of electricity was raised and Bob Santanello will look into that possibility as John would like to have music at the event.  John has found someone to donate 3’ long sticks to use for smores, he is also checking to see if grocery stores will donate the ingredients (marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers).

-Summer Recreation Camp
The board invited camp Director Bob Maloney to attend our meeting to discuss this year’s camp.  Bob did not show up.  Camp has been going smoothly but there have been a couple of issues we wanted to discuss.

New Business
-Maryann Ellsworth was contacted by the Open Space Committee who would like to donate $500.00 to the Recreation Dept.  We would like to use that money the money for the summer camp program to replenish some of our equipment that is worn and possibly get new games.  Bob Santanello, Carolan Ammirata, Maryann Ellsworth and John Babbini will  inventory the camp site to see what is needed/or replaced on August 4th at 8 am.

Meeting ended at 7:45

Respectfully submitted
