Point Pleasant Beach Recreation Meeting
July 22, 2019
In attendance:
John Babbini
Carolan Ammirata
Doug Vitale
Debra Bodine-Vazquez
Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm
Old Business:
Best Day: The event went well (7/13-14). Pat Cavangh was not in attendance to give a more detailed account of the event.
Surf Camp: Since the camp (6/24)was overbooked, a second session was added the following week. All were pleased.
Fish Event (9/14): John Babbini is trying to reach out to another fish shop and the aquarium to participate in the event. With the summer chaos this has proven a bit difficult. Jersey Hooker is on board for this event. Hours to be changed to 4:30-7:30 to insure more sunlight.
Bonfire: Everything on target for the 2nd annual town bonfire (9/7 rain date 9/8). Doug Vitale and John Babbini decided to use wood and not pallets due to the left over nails that remained on the beach after last year's fire. Doug will once again get pizza donations from town shops, and Stop and Shop will donate ingredients for s'mores. The band Dentist ($300.00) will play at the event.
Summer Camp (on going) is going fine.
Tug of War: The event is making progress (10/12).
Beach Yoga: The program should begin this week. There will be classes everyday in the mornings 7-8 am. On Friday nights there will be a class 7-8pm. These classes will be held on the Maryland Avenue beach. Kids yoga will start in September and will be held in the Joyful Living Yoga studio.
NO new business was discussed.
Meeting closed at 7:40pm
