Meeting Discussion
The meeting opened at 7:15 PM.
The minutes of the 3/24 meeting were reviewed and approved.
A motion was made and unanimously approved the amount of $500 to bring the total payment to $2000 to Joe Fitzsimmons for his role as director of the 2013/2014 Point Pleasant Beach Rec basketball league.
Kas Dyson will write thank you notes to the sponsors of the basketball program utilizing Barbara Seaman’s list.
John Paolella presented his plan for a fall program of golf instruction at Antrim School for 6th to 8th graders. Antrim School and School Superintendent Ravally are supportive. The program called Shore Junior Golf would be a feeder for the High School Golf Team of which Mr. Paolella has been an Assistant Coach. The program would be one hour a week for 6 weeks from 9/15 to 11/1. There will be 8 students per session with up to two sessions. The Program will have a golf outing to raise funds for clubs and equipment. There will be no charge to the Committee for instruction, but a fee will be necessary for the 6th week outing at a golf course. The other 5 weeks of instruction will be held behind Antrim. The Committee agreed to proceeed with the Program. A fee of $40 per student will be charged. No more than 25% of the attendees will be from Bay Head unless there are not enough Point Beach students to fill out the session. The Committee will handle the signup.
The Summertime Surf Program will be held from 1 to 4 PM June 23 to 27 at Maryland Avenue Beach for a charge of $135 for each of 20 students. The Committee will handle the signup on a first come first served basis with a penalty for late application.
Bonfires will be held Sunday 5/25 (5/26th rain date) and on Saturday 9/6. Mike Ramos will obtain fire permits. Janice Aportela will ask the Key Club for help with the event. Tony Testa and Barbara Seaman will act as Chairs. Mike will discuss with them.
Family Fishing Nights are planned for 7/26 & 8/16. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.
The next meeting would normally be scheduled for Monday 5/26, but will be rescheduled to Tuesday 5/27 because of the Memorial Day Holiday.
