  5. 2nd annual Homegrown Book Fair May 22nd 12-6p music and different vendors gathered in the Bordens Parking lot
    • Fundraising committee will be at the table that day
      1. Tug of War meeting 4/19/21- Ryan reviewed progress made and what next steps were
      2. Park grant process- any other thoughts of what we should add to the meeting
  1. Kiwanis club, senior space, family fitness, town is growing, be outdoors more, sustainable practices (rain barrel). Can we include an architect in the grant?
    1. Correspondence -Sent thank you note to Jenkinson’s for $5K donation

      2. Pleasure Park equipment delivered in next 2 weeks, installation goal is before Memorial Day. We can fundraise for the remaining ideas and then prioritize
      3. Mural may be put on the side of the rec building

  1. $5K donation from Jenkinson’s
  2. Moving ahead with sponsorship letters. They will get recognized for the level of donations
  3. Fit Fest- May 15th from 9am-12pm. Incorporate Fit family fun day. $5/per person as a fundraiser

      1. Need to vote on this. Thursday to Monday 730a-830am starting Memorial Day weekend through September. $12/class. $2 to rec, $10 to instructor. Special application permit needed. Spoke to two yoga studios to see if others would be interested in town – Xhale, Joyful Living, and Billi from Peace Warrior

      1. Vote to approve $120 for skate park lessons. Open it up for PPB residents for 1 week, then to the public. 7 weeks, 1 hour on Wednesdays during the hours of 3pm-7pm.
      2. ABF Skate Shop states: $120 is reasonable in my experience.  For comparison, Manasquan is charging $125 ($25 goes to the town) point boro is at $100 ($15 goes to the town) and fanwood is $110 ($10 goes to the town).  The difference between $115 and $120 per hour is only 71 cents ($16.43 per hour vs. 17.14). Max kids would be 8-10/class.

      1. Met with Jason- US Championship Pickleball Ambassador, he runs Boro pickleball. Willing to conduct a free beginner 45 minute lesson for us May
      2. We can outline the basketball courts in chalk
      3. Based on that we can form a league/tournament
      4. May 23rd 10am-11am, 900am-1230pm – 1 day event

      1. Ryan met with Manasquan on April 19th to lay out prelim plans for Tug.
  1. Beach needs to confirm no football game that day
  2. Can we do the inlet bar this year since its outside
  3. Charity component for teams?
  4. How do we get a sign up? (Arnold Ave and Exxon Gas station)
      1. Next meeting will be Monday, May 10th at 7 pm at Manasquan Rec Annex (67 Atlantic Ave). Need our committee members to attend

    2. Uke/Guitar on the Beach

      1. Been in contact with Rob Blueclaws Event Group Outing Team. Once we have an outline she will present to committee

      2. Location is the driving factor of this tournament, as this drives how many people
    6. New business
      1. Starry Night event- Date June 24th, 7pm – Fallon S. Update – theme around “Starry night in Arnold Summer”
      2. Canoes or lifeguard boats will be needed, also need to check depth for gondolas
      3. High school students will volunteers to row boats
      4. Would tie in “historic society” feel and other committees
      5. Fallon asked about volunteers- Matt offered
