The September 21, 2022 meeting of the Point Pleasant Beach Planning Board opened at 7:00 pm. The Clerk read the notice of compliance with the “Open Public Meetings Act. Present were Board members: Mayor Kanitra, Councilman Ramos, Mr. Bixby, Mr. Woolley, Chairman Ritchings, Mr. Cavagnaro, Mr. Calderone and Secretary Mills
Absent: Paesano and Gant

Memorialize minutes –
Motion by Mr. Cavagnaro, second by Mr. Calderone to memorialize the minutes of Memorialize minutes – August 17, 2022 –

Memorialize Resolution
Motion by Mr. Bixby, second by Mr. Cavagnaro to memorialize the action and vote approving application 2022-422 – Don Don Inc. d/b/a Stewarts Root Beer – c/o Don Alonzo – 63 – 69 Broadway. Block 164; lot 11 – Applicant wishes to utilize commercial parking for public parking during the season and boat storage in the off season in addition to supporting his business.
Motion by Mr. Cavagnaro, second by Councilman Ramos to memorialize the action and vote approving 2022-423 – 53 Broadway PPB LLC c/o Tim Caughey – 53 Broadway – Applicant requesting site plan approval to build a structure which will contain Marine commercial use on the bottom level and residential unit on second story.
In favor: Bixby, Kanitra, Mills, Ritchings, Ramos, Cavagnaro and Woolley

Chairman Ritchings inquired why the sign was cited because the sign is made of wood as required by sign ordinance. The Chairman also likes the way it looks.
Attorney also noted that the number of signs exceed what is allowable.
The mayor clarified that previous vinyl signage was approved because signs could not be hung on the building.
The board temporarily approved existing signage for 6 months pending a real sign being installed.
The applicant stated that a building sign was not in her budget at this time but in 6 months she might be able to find a more reasonable sign.
Mr. Cavagnaro inquired what will happen if they cannot afford the sign in 6 months. Answer – applicant can return to board at that time.
Motion by Mayor Kanitra to approve a 6-month reprieve and the applicant shall return with alternative.

Applicant is applying for vinyl window signage. The applicant has ordered a code compliant sign but it will take a few months so she would like to have temporary vinyl signage.
Motion by Councilman Ramos o approve vinyl sign for 6 months until compliant sign is made, second by Mr. Bixby
