April 20, 2022, PB Regular Meeting minutes

 

 

The April 20, 2022 meeting of the Point Pleasant Beach Planning Board opened at 7:00 pm.  The Clerk read the notice of compliance with the “Open Public Meetings Act.  Present were Board members: Mayor Kanitra, Councilman Ramos, Chairman Ritchings, Vice chair Paesano, Mr. Bixby, Mr. Woolley, Mr. Calderone, Mr. Cavagnaro and Secretary Mills

Absent:  Mr. Gant

Also in attendance: Board attorney Robert Ulaky and Board Engineer, John Mele

 

Motion by Mr. Cavagnaro, second by Mr. Calderone to memorialize minutes of March 16, 2022 –

 

In favor: Calderone, Ramos, Cavagnaro, Woolley and Mills

opposed:  none

 

 Sign review

 

  Barefoot Realty – 421 River

 

Motion by Mr. Bixby, second by Mr. Calderone to approve the Barefoot Realty sign.

 

In favor: Woolley, Bixby, Calderone, Paesano, Kanitra, Ramos, Cavagnaro, Mills and Ritchings

Opposed:  None

 

Rosies Pizza – 620 Bay Avenue

 

Motion by Mr. Cavagnaro, second by Mr. Calderone to approve the Rosie pizza sign.

 

In favor: Woolley, Bixby, Calderone, Paesano, Kanitra, Ramos, Cavagnaro, Mills and Ritchings

Opposed:  None

  

DiMatteo’s – 1901 Ocean avenue

 

Motion by Mr. Bixby, second by Mr. Calderone to approve the Dimatteo sign with conditions to be revisited down the road.

 

In favor: Woolley, Bixby, Calderone, Paesano, Kanitra, Ramos, Cavagnaro, Mills and Ritchings

BOAT YARD – 401 BROADWAY

 

The Board reviewed the renderings. They are requesting numerous signs for the property.  Looking to put a second sign on the roof. the street level sign is two dimensional and made out of azek which is a wood composite.  They will be lit with goose neck lighting.

 

Vice chair Paesano inquired if they would put screening to hide the mechanicals on the roof. (yes) street signs are double sided

 Motion by mayor Kanitra, second by councilman Ramos to approve the boat YARD SIGNAGE with conditions. conditions will be added to the site plan resolution

#2022-416 – Expediting Garm – 415 – 417 Broadway – resolution compliance

 

Brian Murphy, professional engineer for spike’s. The final plan was reviewed. outdoor planters with seats in between. the board found the submission acceptable.  plantings will be seasonally adjusted. planters not to be utilized for ash trays. Chairman Ritchings found the rendering attractive.

 

 

Motion by Mr. Cavagnaro, second by Mr. Calderone to memorialize resolution #2022-416 expediting garm (SPIKE’S SITE plan compliance) with conditions.

 

In favor: Bixby, Calderone, Kanitra, Ramos, Cavagnaro, Mills and Ritchings

Memorialize 2022-416 – SINNERS STEAK HOUSE – 20 INLET DRIVE – with condition

 

The applicant also submitted a second sign to be placed on a wooden easel by the patio gate. it was discovered that there is no access to the patio from the sidewalk. all seating is done from the main entrance so there is no need for this sign. they will not be having valet parking this summer. somewhere in the future they might.

                 

Motion by Mr. Cavagnaro, second by Mr. Calderone to MEMORIALIZE RESOLUTION #2022-417 sinners steak house with conditions. (eliminated second sign)
