Borough of Point Pleasant Beach NON RESIDENT TAXPAYERS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES
July 16, 2022
The meeting was called to order at 9:03 am.
August 6 Meeting Discussion
Seth started the meeting by discussing the Ocean Star article and said he will contact the editor to change the date in the Beach Events Section. He stated the paper will print 2 more articles and they will be sending a reporter the day of the meeting.
The Meeting: Seth said he sent the robo call information to Chris Riehl and asked for 4 dates: 7/22,29, 8/1 and 8/4. Chris Riehl said she received the information.
Keith said he will send an email once a week to let people know about the meeting. Thank you to Keith’s wife Gina for her help with the emails.
Councilman Mike Ramos is coming.
Vic will ask the Police Chief about active shooter training and preparation.
Social Media-
Mary will contact the Patch.
Lynne will follow up on town Instagram. It was suggested that Lynne contact Doug Vitale or Eileen Farrell for help.
The letter in the mail will go out 10 days before the event. The Non Residents will receive the letter.
Vic will post on Facebook that covers the three boroughs: Beach, Boro and Bay Head.
Seth will send the letter to the former mayors and others.
Budget- The committee’s budget was increased by $250.
Newsletter-The Newsletter is going out this week and Seth will make sure that it is correct.
Speakers-
The Arts Council can’t come to the meeting.
Kim Allen will represent the Chamber of Commerce and will speak as a realtor.
Joanne will also be coming to speak as a realtor.
The Mayor and Mike Ramos will speak.
The Chief of Police R. Kowalewski substituted for Chief Michigan last year and will speak again this year.
The Fire Chief Mike Brodeur will come. He will also help with maintenance that day with Darin.
Sabrina is coming to represent First Aid.
Joanne will give real estate stats.
Alex Taylor is coming. Vic will ask him to bring about 200 pamphlets.
Kristen O’Rourke will represent Quality of Life.
Per Christy, John Mele is coming.
Survey-The following is the order for the survey:
1) Mayor Kanitra
2) Councilman Mike Ramos
3) Police Chief Kowalewski
4) Fire Department
5) First Aid Squad
6) Quality of Life
7) Engineer
8) Joanne (Realtor)
9) Kim (Realtor and Chamber)
10) Alex
Gym-
There will only be one entrance on Forman Avenue. Keith and Christy volunteered to be outside.
Seth asked the Mayor if we can park on TrentonAvenue. He said he will get back to Seth.
The bleachers hold 276 people. They will open more bleachers if needed.
Seth asked for tables, 2 by the door and 7 tables for speakers. The committee people can sit on the bottom row of bleachers.
There will be 2 cordless mikes. Vic will hold one.
They are bringing 2 podiums from Antrim.
Signs should be up at 9. Mary will post at Antrim and Dominic will post at the High School.
We should get there at 9:15.
Seth will do a welcome. Vic will do the Agenda. Seth will send out attendance email one week before.
Lynne would like the forms in one PDF. There are 3 forms.
We need 300 new applicant forms, 100 sign in sheets, 300 surveys.
Bathrooms are on the left and down the hall.
Meeting adjourned at 10:30.
