The mission for the Point Pleasant Beach Municipal Alliance is to address the prevalence of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana misuse and abuse through educational programming, public awareness campaigns and encouraging good mental health practices for our families and community.

The vision of the Alliance is to promote and enhance a positive, physically and mentally healthy community free of the misuse and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana.

PPBMAC Agenda

  1. Review and Adopt By-Laws – motioned AT, seconded KM. Passed 8-0.
  2. Review and Adopt Budget – motioned AT, seconded KG. Passed 8-0.

  • Exploring Potential Partnerships – NAMHSA, Feeling Swell

    1. OCC substance abuse/addiction programming; Antrim “Scared Straight” program; study: family dinners/church attendance reduces incidences of substance abuse.
    2. Church sponsored groups, i.e., church group and AP’s counseling resources
    3. Provide education to parents – parent should not condone the use of alcohol or other drugs or provide access to usage.
    4. Town dinners – pandemic-friendly, encourage families to eat together
      1. NB: It was suggested after meeting’s end that we incorporate a digital social media element that allows families to dine “together” without the risk of spreading the virus or making anyone uncomfortable or at risk.
    5. 18th at 7 PM in the Council Chambers – Neighborhood Partnership Initiative meeting – DEA agent to speak about the dangers of chewables and other mail-order drugs and the reemergence of meth.
