#1 Meeting Minutes Approval for 09/14/2022:     All Commission Members Approved

 

#2  Gottlieb Building Update

 

The Gottlieb Building project is at a standstill. The Fisher Family has offered to give the Town the building for free but it needs to be accepted by the Endowment Commission. There are concerns with the donation by the Town  completing the building, having a maintenance budget and no tax revenue from stated property. Currently, there have been no decisions made from the Town.

 PPBHP Commission continued the review of 23 Properties remaining from the Ocean County Listing, determining Historical relevance due to exterior change as follows:

 

   318   Richmond Ave       Voted: Yes-Historical

   332   Richmond Ave       Voted: No- externally changed with stucco.

   408   Richmond Ave       Voted: Yes- Historical

   310   Hawthorne Ave     Voted: Pending, Historically significant but too many exterior renovations.

   623   New Jersey Ave      Voted: Pending, pictures needed before decision. (Gregory Cox)

   601   Bay Ave                     Voted: Pending, more investigation needed. (Jerry Woolley)

   934   Bay Ave                     Voted: No-too many external changes.

   412   River Ave                  Voted: Pending, decision to be made after renovation.

      13   Atlantic Ave             Voted: Yes-Historical

   804   Arnold Ave               Voted: No-original Arnold Movie Theater, too many external renovations.

#4  Discussion of a Color Palette for Historical Overlay Buildings

 

The PPBHPC decided to adopt a Color Palette from the Sherwin Williams Historical Color Grouping for local business buildings to be considered as part of the Historic Overlay Section of Town. It will consist of a minimum of 3 colors & 1 contrast color.

               

 Status: Complete

 

 

#6  Miscellaneous Topics

 

  1. A Grant has been issued to the Town for the improvement of Channel Drive. The possible construction of a Hotel in that area has been scrapped.
  2. The building, 721 Arnold Ave has settled current lawsuits but owner has no known public plan for renovation.
  3. Gregory Cox met with Lakehurst Historian, Rick Zitarosa, who offered his insights/facts of Lakehurst to our Commission.
