#1 Severance House Update
Michael Manzo has allowed the PPB HPC Members to go into the Severance House to take pictures
of, and possibly save historical artifacts prior to demo. Members decided on June 1 to meet at 303
Woodland Ave at 7pm. Alternative date is June 15. Pending on owner’s availability.

#2 Historical Plaque Update
A new Vendor for the Historical Plaques has been investigated by Bill Lyons and Greg Cox. Approved by the PPB HPC Members, W & E Baum, Freehold, NJ was contacted & provided a new quote for the plaques to be created for a cost of $475.00/plaque. The one piece, 9”x12” Plaques will be made of brass. Slight modifications to the plaque drawing will be provided to Vendor before their creation. This change of Vendor is at a lower price point & an exact depiction of plaque content of one piece. The Vendor, FastSigns, could not provide this.

#3 10 Properties For Town Council Recommendation Deemed Historical
Bill Lyons provided information on 10 properties to be identified as Historical. Members agreed on 9 addresses and voted to remove 1 address. It was also separately decided to add another address.
To be presented to Town Council for approval.

Meeting Notes Continued
The home at 805 Trenton Ave is over 100 years old, maintaining its original design. The PPB HPC Members have agreed to add it to the Historical Database with Bill Lyons following up with historical information provided by the owners.
The PPB HPC has assessed all the Town properties identified in the 1981 published Ocean County Survey. The Committee has agreed to assess 5 to 10 remaining properties at future Meetings from the 1981 published Listing by Ocean County.

#4 Miscellaneous Topics
- The Committee discussed that the initial round of plaques will be distributed to the Commercial
Historical Properties residing in the Downtown Historic Overlay District & to three non-
contiguous properties ( USCG Station, St. Peter’s RC Church, Tower Cottage).
- Jerry Woolley was nominated to make a presentation at the next PPB Historical Society meeting
about the functions of the PPB Historic Preservation Commission.
- Joe Rodgers was nominated to contact Mayor Paul Kanitra on adding 2 Alternative Members to
the PPB HPC.
- Jerry Woolley stated Town Hall’s attic & Tank held primarily Council Minutes & Planning Board
information rather than historical documents.
- Jerry Woolley stated that the Point Bay Brewery project has temporarily stalled due to a legal
claim by neighboring Point Distributors about right of way access to property.
- The Gottlieb Building renovation has stalled. Brown paper currently in windows to obscure
internal construction view.
