         #1 Meeting Minutes Approval for 11/09/2022:     All Commission Members Approved

 

 

#2  Gottlieb Building Update

 

The Gottlieb Building project is at a standstill. No current update on status of building.

 

Status: In Progress

 

 

#3  Historical Building Plaques

 

Gregory Cox contacted Vendor on status of plaques. Vendor, W&E Baum, provided a final version which was agreed to by Members of the PPBHPC. A request was made to the Vendor to have the first plaque  manufactured & present it  to the PPBHPC for approval. Once approved, the remaining plaques will be completed. The first plaque will be 710 McLean Ave. (Library).  Vendor is in agreement.

 

 

#4  Historical Property Listings                                                                     

                                                              

 PPBHP Commission continued the review of 23 Properties remaining from the Ocean County Listing, determining           Historical relevance due to exterior change as follows:

 

   505   Foreman Ave           Voted: No- Torn down by new owners.

   328   Richmond Ave        Voted: No- Too much external renovations from original structure.

   623   New Jersey Ave      Voted: No-Built in 1935 with no Historical significance.

   601   Bay Ave                     Voted: Yes-Historical

#5  Discussion Of Other Relevant Historical Dwellings Not On The Ocean County Listings

 

 

 Jerry Woolley spoke of 2 buildings in Town which should be considered Historical.

 

  1. The Construction Shed in the Public Works area which was an original railroad property building.
  2. The JCP&L building, on New Jersey & Atlantic Aves., which served as the old Trolley Power House.

 

 These 2 buildings were voted on as being of Historical significance by the PPBHPC.

 

  Status: Closed

 

 

 

 #6  Miscellaneous Topics

 

  1. Gregory Cox informed PPBHPC Members that the Bank of America building was sold. Mr. Ray Masucci hired the firm  Aquatecture Associates for the planning of a possible 50 room hotel on the site. A second buyer is interested in  developing apartments on the former gym site facing Rt 35N. Issues of parking and right of way  need to be addressed with both owners and Town.

 

  1. The 721 Arnold Ave building is now up for sale by owner Scot Dolan.

 

  1. The renovation of 501 Arnold Ave, future Pop’s Diner, will also sell sundries as part of the business.

 

  1. Mary Pearce stated she had observed a residence on New Jersey & St Louis Aves. being assessed by HGTV for unknown intentions.

 

  1. The future Point Bay Brewery renovation/construction project is awaiting start.

 

  1. William Lyons announced he planned to retire from the PPBHPC. No timeframe announced.
