#1 Meeting Minutes Approval for 3/8/2023: All Commission Members Approved
#2 Gottlieb Building Update
The Gottlieb Building has been sold according to John Monticello’s source. The original approved plan for a boutique hotel on 2nd level and commercial space on the 1st floor are commence soon.

#3 New Construction
The Bank of America building has been sold. Plans are being submitted to the Town for approval by Aquatecture Associates through owner Raymond Masucci. The current BOA building would be torn down & replaced with a 56 room hotel. Also, the abandoned gym building on the western side of RT 35N, was purchased by a Mr Lombardi with intentions to demolish & build a 25 apartment complex. Approvals are still needed including parking space for both projects.

#4 Historical Property Listings
PPBHPC continued the review of 23 Properties for Historical significance remaining from the Ocean County listing. Bill Lyons provided the current addresses below and their status as agreed to by the PPBHPC. These Listings should be sent to Town Council for recognition as Historic, or if not Historical removed from the OC listing.
37 Arnold Ave Voted: No- Removed from Listing due to recent devastating fire.
339 River Ave Voted: Yes- Historical. Picture in Archives incorrect & should be updated
318 Richmond Ave Voted: More investigation needed by Greg Burns in Toms River Land Records Dept.

308 Hawthorne Ave Voted: Investigation to be done by Jerry Woolley. This area was the Historical Railroad
Workers/Black District in Town.
640 Arnold Ave Voted: Yes but Investigation needed for its Historical story. Jerry Woolley to investigate.
409 Richmond Av Voted: Table Discussion on status. Greg Burns to investigate in Toms River Land Records
Dept. Front of house meets criteria for Historical status but a large addition was
recently added. It was previously part of the John Arnold property.
301 Cooks Lane Voted: Historical. Old Railroad Freight House on the Dept of Works property. Historical
recognition given, but no Plaque to be presented.

#5 PPBHPC Annual Member Attendance Requirements
A printed Membership form was passed out to all Members who reviewed & critiqued it. After discussion it was decided to add ZOOM Meetings for away Members. All Members agreed to the current Form. See below:
Dear PPB Historical Preservation Commission Members,
The Commission is scheduled for 6 Meetings annually, starting in January & scheduled the 2nd Wednesday of every other month. The Commission expects the Members to attend minimally, 4 of the 6 scheduled meetings. ZOOM Meeting attendance is acceptable. Exceptions are the following:
- Sickness/Injury- personal or family member needing care
- Scheduled Vacation- Commission must be informed prior to scheduled meeting
- Jury Duty
The Commission is part of the PPB Municipal Government and although voluntary, attendance is required. If you are unable to meet the minimal meeting attendance request, please let the Committee before the date of __/__/2023 and we will accept your resignation.
* A non response to this message by the date stated, will be taken as your resignation to the PPB Historical Commission.

#6 Plaque Presentation & Information
It was determined that that the first Plaque issued would be presented to the Library on Curtis Ave. Mary Pearce is to contact Anna McNamara, whose Library Association ensures the upkeep of the building. Plan is to host a ceremony at the Library, tentatively on June 6, 2023 at 7:00pm. Other guests to be invited would be Steve Fisher, Mayor Paul Kanitra, Doug Vitale & Chris Cochran who were vital in the Historical Plaque Project.

#7 Member William Lyons Announces Retirement from PPBHPC – Emeritus Status Vote
Bill Lyons has announced his leaving the Commission effective at the end of the Meeting. It was voted upon by PPBHPC Members and agreed to by Bill that he would hold an “Emeritus” status with the Commission for his wealth of knowledge, hard work and dedication. It was voted upon & agreed to by PPBHPC Members to grant Emeritus Status for any future retiring Member in good standing.

#8 Town Newsletter
John Monticello volunteered to inform the Town Newsletter of the PPBHPC accomplishments, in an effort to inform residents of the surrounding Historical buildings.

#9 Maps and Coordinates
- It was agreed to by PPBHPC Members that Lot/Block Numbers and GPS Coordinates be part of the Historical Dwelling description when directed to the website through the QR Code on each Plaque.
- Jerry Woolley who owns an original Ocean County Pt Pleasant Beach Atlas from 1967 with information dating back to the early 1900’s. Jerry will bring it to next Meeting in July. PPBHPC Members discussed possibly having a professional company digitize the Atlas using PPBHPC’s budget funds.
