September 24, 2019 Meeting Minutes
Meeting commenced at approximately 7:05 PM with the Sunshine Law/Roll Call.
Adequate notice of the time and place of this meeting was given under the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act and was posted and sent to the officially designated newspapers in compliance with the law.
Attendance
Green Team Advisory Committee Members present: Peter Ritchings, Cathy Sogorka, Debbie Harris, Dee Zoll, Kelly Romanowski and Jack Foley.
Green Team Meeting:
The Green Team Advisory Committee meeting commenced at approximately 7:05 PM. The meeting focused on a discussion and summary of the status of the Sustainable Jersey effort and a continued discussion of those actions in progress towards a Silver Certification. The Green Team has received inquiries from residents that may be interested in volunteering.
There was a discussion regarding having a banner printed/made utilizing the artwork created by High School student Justine Bautin that would be used to create the Green Team/Environmental Commission T-shirts. The banner would be used at Green Team and Environmental Commission outreach events.
An outreach event regarding the balloon ban is scheduled for October 5.

Environmental Commission Members absent with reason: Anne Lightburn, Patti Villani, Cary Mulkeen, Dave Russel and Council Liaison Paul Kinitra.
Guests in Attendance: Mr. Clemons Bremmer and Ocean Star Reporter Kaitlyn Njoroge.
Due to a lack of quorum, there was a brief Environmental Commission meeting with no formal actions taken.
The Environmental Commission members present briefly discussed the following items:
- The Environmental Commission experience at the 2019 Seafood Festival;
- Randall Avenue public access improvements;
- Recycling related stickers on the recycling receptacles throughout the Township;
- Recent observations at retail stores regarding compliance with the plastic bag ban.
Upcoming Events
The next Environmental Commission meeting is scheduled for October 22, 2019, beginning with the Green Team Advisory Committee meeting at 7 PM, Second Floor of the Municipal Building.
