Borough of Point Pleasant Beach Point Beach Arts Commiee Meeࢢng Minutes
May 9, 2022
The meeࢢng was held at the Municipal Building Council Meeࢢng Room, 416 New Jersey Ave., PPB and
called to order by Chairperson Lauren Goldfarb Edwards at 7:13 pm.
Aendees: The following members and volunteers were in aendance: Lauren Goldfarb Edwards, Krisࢢ
Monࢢcello, Judy Van Brunt, Sheila Soyster, Tracy Jackson,, Larry Schwartz, Penny Davies
Judy Van Brunt, Secretary, recorded the minutes of the meeࢢng.
The Agenda aached as Exhibit A was presented as the format for the meeࢢng.
Chairperson’s Report: New Guidelines were issued from Council. We need to have a quorum to vote
on approval for any new iniࢢaࢢves. We need to idenࢢfy acࢢve members so we can conduct email
votes. We can hold 4 membership spots for people who live outside of Point Beach.

Vice Chairperson’s Report: We need more volunteers who can execute and follow through on
events.

Secretary’s Report: A vote that the February, March and April minutes to be approved was not
taken as there was no quorum.

Spotlight Arࢢsts at Library and Town Hall – Meet the Arࢢst event prior to this evening’s
meeࢢng. Approximately 12 aendees. Sending photos and informaࢢon to the Ocean Star. Next
Arࢢst is Bob Como, then Joan Tozzi Ablahani will exhibit in Library for June and at Municipal Bldg.

b) Refresh Your Palate – events on hold for now
Online Poetry Month Celebraࢢon and Online Photography Appreciaࢢon – Online submissions
were not received. We have found an error with our gmail account and will be working to fix the
issue.

6) Scheduled and Upcoming 2022 events:
Virtual Juried Art Show – Postponing unࢢl winter 2023. Commiee will provide Melissa Hood
and Sheila Soyster with the detailed instrucࢢons and both will co-chair this event.

Beach Party Art Fesࢢval – Scheduled for 7/21; rain date 7/28. Kris ࢢis reviewing all the vendor
applicaࢢons. May have space limitaࢢons. Kris ࢢwill provide band/sound system informaࢢon to
the Senior Commiee.
b)
Fall Homegrown Fesࢢval – Chairperson needed. May consider canceling if a chairperson isn’t
idenࢢfied by June 15th. Reaching out to the owner of the Lile Point Book Shop and/or Carol at
the Chamber
c)
d) PartY By The Sea – Hoping to do this Spring of 2023. Tracy is considering Chairing this event.
Murals – Lauren will chair; need businesses to parࢢcipate. Reaching out to MaryEllen Savage re:

f) Painted Crosswalks – On hold; this will be part of the murals sub commiee

Seeking New Members – Seeking people willing to roll up their sleeves to coordinate, organize
and run programs and events. We will add a volunteer outreach secࢢon to all emails.

Social Media – Contract ended with Adapࢢng Social. We are seeking a new provider. Ideally a
student who will do this for volunteer hours.

Arࢢsts Registry – As part of our towns Art Assets for sustainable NJ, Judy will create an arࢢst
registry. She will send out a template or “form” via email and social media for arࢢsts to provide
photos, bios etc. so we can maintain a
