Borough of Point Pleasant Beach Point Beach Arts Committee Meeting Minutes
February 13, 2023
The meeting was held at the Municipal Building Council Meeting Room, 416 New Jersey Ave., PPB and called to order by Secretary Judy Van Brunt at 7:06 pm.
Attendees: The following members and volunteers were in attendance: Kristi Monticello, Sheila Soyster, Larry Schwartz, Tracey Jackson, Judy Van Brunt, Arlene Testa
Judy Van Brunt, Secretary, recorded the minutes of the meeting.
The Agenda attached as Exhibit A was presented as the format for the meeting.

3. Treasurer’s Report: no report
4. Secretary’s Report: Minutes from the 1/9/2023 meeting were voted on and approved as read
5. Past Events and Recap:
a. Spotlight Artists at Library and Town Hall – Meet the Artist with Sheila Evans photography will be held mid-March. It was suggested that we send out a description of criteria to all exhibitors with a waiver. We’d like to have a QR code that links them to the registry when that is created. Sheila Soyster offered to ask members of Manasquan River Group of Artists if they’d be interested in displaying their work.
b. Murals – Murals will be on hold until Spring. Tentative Mosaic Mural was canceled due to the tight time constraints with town approvals and the company offering to do the Mural. May look to TD bank for future funding.
6. Upcoming events:
a) Virtual Juried Art Show – Sheila Soyster reported that the art show information and link has been advertised as of 1/3/2023 and posted to social media. We discussed needing to place information more prominently on the website. We need to add size to the submission form. We will reach out to area High Schools to generate interest in this new age group. Will share with Belmar Arts and Monmouth Arts.
b) PartY By The Sea – May 18, 2023; Lobster Shanty. Tracy Jackson to Chair. Planning is underway. Seeking someone to donate a “grab & go” dessert or chocolate.
c) Artist’s registry – Judy discussed ideas with Melissa Hood and Lauren Kurtz on a format. Need technical assistance for this.
d) Art Walk – Scheduled for 4/29/2023. Flyer is complete and local stores have been contacted about the event. If a shop has their own artist, they must be approved by the sub committee chair.
7. New Business:
a) Grants: K. O’Rourke is available to help us look for Grants to help fund events.
8. Adjournment: As there was no further New Business or Questions to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:55pm.
