  1. Update on Ongoing Initiatives:
    1. Spotlight Artists at Library and Town Hall –   Emily Gilman Beezley will install her art at the beginning of Sept.  We will hold a meet the artist event prior to the October meeting.  Always looking for more artists!
    2. Kids Art Classes – Patty provided a recap. Program went well.  Next time we’d like to advertise more to improve enrollment.  Thunder was an issue in finding shelter while waiting for pick up.  We will ask St. Peters if they have space for that.  Looking to continue with Kids and Adult art classes in fall and winter pending location
    3. Concert Series and Battle of the Bands – Assisting Rec with these initiatives. Concerts have been really great and well attended.  Last one 8/22
    4. Sandcastle Contest – Date is 9/10. Looking for judges and a professional sandcastle builder to demonstrate.  Free admission to beach, so we need the sign-up form to ask for # of people in party.
    5. Murals:   The Jaeger Lumber mural should start in the next couple of weeks and take a month to complete.
    6. Tech Help – Carly Reihl is helping us with our tech and website. Possible set up Artist Directory.

  1. Upcoming events:
  2. Tug of War– October 8th. Vendor application is on our website

  1. New Business:
  2. Grounds for Sculpture Trip -Check with Briggs on cost of 2 vans. Consider some dates. Possibly do a smaller local gallery (Malpass).  Any legal issues with an offsite event and transportation?
  3. Homegrown – Potential Date of 10/22 with rain date of 10/29. Looking to coordinate with Rec. Additional ideas:  Pie throwing contest; count the # of candy corn in a jar?
  4. Scarecrow Contest – Registration will go out in Sept.
  5. Art With A Cause – For 2024 – Arlene suggested a monthly or quarterly event that ties in with a cause, ie breast cancer awareness, puzzle pieces for autism awareness, red shoe for domestic violence awareness. Perhaps an event at the aquarium as Penny Davies suggested at the July meeting?
  6. October Meeting – 10/9 on Columbus Day. Should we keep or change the date?

Adjournment:  As there was no further New Business or Questions to discuss, a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Tracy Jackson and seconded by Patty Mica-Lowe.  The meeting adjourned at 8:51pm.
