RESOLUTION A:  Appointment to fill vacancy of Mayor Kanitra’s former Council seat

Councilmember Santanello: stated, for the record, that he objected to Mr. Riordan being present – as Municipal Chair and Borough Attorney, he has a clear and concise conflict of interest.

Mayor Kanitra: appreciates all coming to fill vacant seat – invited nominations from the floor.

Nomination by Councilmember Cortes for Mike Gnapp to fill the vacant Council seat was seconded by Councilmember Santanello, and defeated by roll call vote.

Councilmembers Vitale, Testa, Migut….NAY

Nomination by Councilmember Santanello for Art Gant to fill the vacant Council seat was seconded by Councilmember Cortes, and defeated by roll call vote.

Mayor Kanitra: those nominated by Councilmembers Cortes and Santanello are excellent – they screened for the process – there is an appetite on Council to close the gender gap – now 5-2, which is more representative of the town, which is 52% female (Councilmember Santanello: has no objection to that) appreciates Councilmembers Cortes and Santanello abstaining.

PULIC PARTICIPATION BEGAN AND ENDED AT 6:35PM WITH NO MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC WISHING TO BE HEARD

Motion by Councilmember Migut to close public participation and adjourn was seconded by Councilmember Santanello and carried by consent of Council. Meeting was adjourned at 6:36PM.
