Borough of Point Pleasant Beach Beautification Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by Gary Mecca
The following members were in attendance: Mary Steiner, Dave Cavagnaro, Gary Mecca, Sandy Pasola, Dorothy Hadley, Barbara Favato, Beth Cox, Sue Dietz, Barbara Russell, MJ Mitchell, Cheryl Manzo. Mary Lynn Ritchings, Angela Fioretti, Maureen Kale, Elia Desruisseaux, Andy Cortes
Minutes – Sandy Pasola moved and Sue Dietz seconded approval of last meetings minutes. Approved unanimously
Flower order – Mary placed order with Seemar Gardens.
Large Flags – Mary received flag Dave collected from DPW. Tattered flags were taken to flag disposal at VFW. Will get poles to Boro Hall.
Scarecrow contest – All classes got treat bags, all classes dunkin donuts gift cards with first place winners getting Sundaes gift cards.
Christmas Decorations – Angela and Jacqui Reid pt up all the garland on the lamp posts. Other volunteers put up the wreaths. Wreaths will need rework for next year. Sandy and Angela volunteered to look into other options for next year. Reindeer got wet in basement and parts need replacement. Need someone to get involved in getting wood, cutting out and painting. .Andy to be installing the overhead swag lights, but bucket truck is broken. He will see if town will approve rental. Barrel greens that were ordered were just right amount (22 bundles) but need to have lesson for consistency of display.
Barrels – Maureen Kale reported barrel by high school is broken and needs to be replaced.
Parkway Garden – Mary Lynn and her husband attended awards ceremony in Philadelphia. Penny sent article to Ocean Star about award. Andy asked for list of plants that were destroyed in work that was done so that contractor can reimburse for replacements.
DPW – Lunch ordered an will be delivered by Jacqui Reid. Holiday baking drop off for DPW Sunday Dec 16 on Dave’s front porch.
Bulbs were purchased for Penny to put in her garden. Next year bulb ordering to be discussed at August meeting for all garden spot owners input.
Christmas Party set for Dec 6 at Dave’s house Mary to contact everyone for what is being brought for apps and dessert.
Gary announced that Jacqui Reid is stepping down as co chair, she will still remain as a member. Gary is looking for one or two additional people to help run.
There will be no January 2019 meeting
