Borough of Point Pleasant Beach Beautification Committee Minutes
November 24, 2020
The Zoom meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM by Committee Chair, Mary Steiner.
The following members were in attendance: Dave Cavagnaro, Maryann Ellsworth, Barbara Favato, Dorothy Hadley, Janine Mastrokalos, Gary Mecca, Penny Mecca, Maureen Kale, Sandy Pasola, Robyn Palang, Monica Post, Mary Lynn Ritchings, M J Rossilli-Mitchell, Alan Steiner, Laurie Vicari, Committee Chair Mary Steiner and Council Liaison Arlene Testa.
Upon motion by Sandy, with second by Robyn, the minutes of the October 22, 2020 meeting were unanimously approved as read.
Committee Chair Mary Steiner: reported there were four more garlands to place around light poles; most of the barrels have been done as have the gardens and Borough Hall; thanked all for doing their jobs; have received kudos on the decorations. Thanked Andy for cutting and Dorothy for painting the reindeer. Also thanked Gary for getting barrels from Lairds. All have handed in their flower orders for gardens. Have to decide what to do with barrels.
Discussion ensued on whether or not to keep the trees and what has been tried in the past. Dave added that the trees were viable for the entire year and were cheap to replace if some were lost.
Upon motion by Dave, with second by Robyn, it was unanimously decided to keep the trees in the barrels.
The next Zoom meeting will be held on January 26th.
Meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm upon motion by Alan and second by Sandy.
