Beautification Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by Gary Mecca
The following members were in attendance: Mary Steiner, Dave Cavagnaro, Gary Mecca, Barbara Favato, Angela Fioretti, Maureen Kale, Elia Desruisseaux, Maryann Elsworth, Penny Mecca, Jacqui Reid, Jacqui Glass, Kathy Bixby, Mary Hoffman, Andy Cortes
Minutes – Dave Cavagnaro moved and Maureen Kale seconded approval of last meetings minutes. Approved unanimously
Election of Officers
Jacqui Glass and Maryann Elsworth nominated Gary Mecca for Chairman. Approved unanimously.
Barbara Favato and Elia Desruisseaux nominated Mary Steiner for Secretary. . Approved unanimously.
Barbara Russell submitted her resignation. Dorothy Hadley will not be able to maintain her garden spot but will remain on the committee.
Subcommittees were setup to manage project areas as follows:
Barrels – Maryann Elsworth
Gardens – Kathy Bixby
Holiday Decorations (Lamposts)- Angela Fioretti, Jacqui Glass, Jacqui Reid, Barbara Favato, Mary Steiner
Holiday Decorations (Reindeer)- Andy Cortes
DPW lunch – Jacqui Reid
Large and Small Flags – Sandy Pasola and Mary Steiner
Flower Order – Mary Steiner
Scarecrow Contest – Sandy Pasola and Mary Steiner
Agenda and Minutes – Elia Desruisseaux
Niblick Street Garden (at Boston by Lake Louise) which was destroyed by contractor doing storm water remediation work will not be re-established until after all work is completed. Gary and Andy will walk through with borough engineer to work up plan for rebuilding garden at that time.
Christmas Decorations – Wreaths and garland can be stored in bags in one half of borough hall space. Angela and Jacqui to coordinate pulling down, bagging and storing. Andy to coordinate with Tom Vogel for using firetruck about taking down swag.
Gary handed out barrel assignments, garden assignments, garden spot inventory, flag inventory and phone list. Calendar of meetings has been posted to the town website.
Andy to contact Comcast about volunteers for mulching again. He will also fix the dock at Sue Dietz’s garden spot when weather is good.
Dave Cavagnaro reported that the town has ordered 40 new lighted snowflakes for next year.
Flower order – Mary reported Seemar Gardens will deliver May 13
