  • Student taping of Bruce Crawford presentation – Dave working on it
  • Joe Leone, Bains and Diane Turton – 35 S tree replacements status – Anne
  • Tree City USA – proclamation completed – budget for next year – signs, etc., documentation required – Arbor day?  – Louise
  • Borough Hazard tree list sent to C. Riehl and Mayor Reid
  • October Shade Tree Federation Conference
  • Any new tree removal permits – Renner

  • Other town ordinances for protecting trees from clear-cutting on knock-down and development lots including a street tree requirement for CO for sold homes – Ritchings
  • Volunteer for educational articles need volunteer for October – August Peter Renner, September, Dave – need October volunteer.
  • Big Beautiful Tree and Special Price Program – going forward
  • Seafood Festival flyers – who will hand out?

 
New Business

  • Hazard Tree pruning letter to residents – discussion of draft to property owners- Renner
  • 2019 Hazard Tree List – volunteers to check the remove or replace trees – Anne
  • High School Class Tree set up meeting with Interact Club – “STC ownership”
  • Peter Renner will manage the STC involvement in Arbor Day celebration at Antrim 2020
  • Newark Playground – interest in replanting – Arbor Day? HS Students? – All

 
2019 Goals – to be addressed

  • Hazard Tree Notification – 4 sent so far
  • Apply Tree City USA – Done
  • Ordinance for sidewalk constriction that will minimize sidewalk lifting by tree roots.
  • Pruning workshop – DPW and residents – decided to not do
  • Educational articles –  August Renner, September Smith
  • Participate in Arbor Day Program – Peter Renner will manage 2020 program with Antrim

 
Old/Unfinished Business – Status Reports

  • Brave New World – use funds for tree planting
  • Catholic Church – discussion for tree replacement. New permit?

 
Upcoming Dates

  • Seafood Festival – Environmental Commission has booth
