Sunshine Law/Roll Call – Approval of July minutes

 

Reports of Officers and Council    

  • Thanks volunteers for mulching and weeding
  • Budget balance
  • Lake Louise inventory sent to Riehl and Kanitra for action – no response yet.
  • Tree City sign location – Louise
  • Fisher Family Fund will grant 12 trees.
  • Meeting with DOT for 35 S – identified 27 opportunities for trees.
  • Received tree list for Big Beautiful Tree – flyers will be distributed.

 

Agenda

  • 308 violation and 109 Niblick-
  • Broadway tree planting – what do we want to do? Other barren streets recommendation.
  • Volunteers for educational articles September and October

 

New Business

  • Inviting Planning Board and Board of Adjustment Chairs to meeting
  • Tree Protection Guards – volunteer to install.
  • Pruning workshop consultant recommendation – Pete Ritchings
  • OK to fund one tree at firehouse trip if needed.

 

Old/Unfinished Business – Status Reports

  • Firehouse on Saint Louis – cleared strip and maple tree replacements from construction – PPB Environmental Commission will handle restoration of the parking strip..

 

2020 Goals – to be addressed

  • Hazard Tree Notification – 12 sent so far
  • Ordinance for sidewalk constriction that will minimize sidewalk lifting by tree roots and investigate costs and provide a demonstration of concrete grinding.
  • Pruning workshop – DPW and STC. Question to open to residents?
  • Provide on-site training session on hazard tree identification.
