- Discussion on the main goals and next steps for moving forward with recommendations for tree protection ordinances – for protecting trees from clear-cutting on knock-down and development lots including a street tree requirement for CO for sold homes –All
- Discussion on STC ideas for approaching the Fischer Fund for PPB tree improvements.
- Volunteers for educational articles March and April.
- Date for Ivy pruning on DOT property trees at 35 N and S intersections.
- Firehouse on Saint Louis – 3 red maple recommendations – Renner
- Summary report from the hazard tree inventory for submission to the governing body – volunteer needed – Louise.
New Business
- Big Beautiful Tree spring 2020 – Renner/Smith – Flyers out – Smith and Renner
2020 Goals – to be addressed
- Hazard Tree Notification – 12 sent so far
- Ordinance for sidewalk constriction that will minimize sidewalk lifting by tree roots and investigate costs and provide a demonstration of concrete grinding.
- Pruning workshop – DPW and STC. Question to open to residents?
- Provide on-site training session on hazard tree identification.
- Educational articles – January (Peter Ritchings)
- Participate in Arbor Day Program – Peter Renner will manage 2020 program with Antrim
Old/Unfinished Business – Status Reports
- Trees at Joe Leone, Bain’s Hardware and Diane Turton – Anne following-up – no response as of 1/30
- Brave New World – use funds for tree planting
- Catholic Church – discussion for tree replacement. New permit?
