Sunshine Law/Roll Call – Approval of January and February Minutes

 

Reports of Officers and Council   

  • Tree City sign location – not up yet?
  • Tree Planting Projects –DOT – move 3 trees
  • Annual Report Submitted to the Shade Tree Federation report and Tree City USA
  • Big Beautiful Tree – article and flyer out – 3 requests so far – any feedback Dave and Don

New Business

  • JCP&L Green Team – Tree Giveaway and Planting Project
  • Nominate Your Block – mailers sent to Sanborn (5 Yes) and Princeton (3 Yes one possible) STC and Fisher Family will cosponsor a total of 12 trees. Discussion do we want to only plant where there are positive responses?  Do we want to add one more block?  Discussion on tree types and availability.
  • Update recommended tree list on the Internet – Clem Bremer
  • Newark Ave Park – request for one tree – Mary (tree type)
  • Arbor Day April 30th – work with Antrim or other ideas for STC
  • Educational Articles for Ocean Star? Volunteer

 

Old/Unfinished Business – Status Reports

  • Memorial Paver for Elaine Hennesssy – Ritchings
  • 308 violation and 109 Niblick- Anne no action yet
  • Pruning workshops public, DPW – dates – Ritchings.
  • Volunteer to evaluate below blocks for street lawn width (both sides), lack of trees, etc.

 

2021 Goals – to be addressed

  • Hazard Tree Notification – 12 sent so far
  • Ordinance for sidewalk constriction that will minimize sidewalk lifting by tree roots and investigate costs and provide a demonstration of concrete grinding.
  • Pruning workshop – DPW and STC. Question to open to residents?
  • Provide on-site training session on hazard tree identification.
  • Inviting Planning Board and Board of Adjustment Chairs to meeting – Anne
