  1. 2020 Scheduled and Proposed Virtual Events:

 

  1. Juried Art Show – Carmelina and Lisa leads. Moved to a Virtual event.  Carmelina to update.  Will be presented like an Art Gallery during October 2020 on the Cttee’s website.  Need update from Christopher on readiness of website to display artwork.
  2. Carve or Decorate a Pumpkin Virtual Contest – Kristi lead. Uploaded pictures of carved or decorated pumpkins will be “liked” in order to receive Chamber gift cards.  Voting to take place October 24-28 and winner will be announced on October 30.
  3. Vintage Van Goghs Virtual Art Classes – Sonya lead and to update. Children class to be held on Sunday, November 15 from 1:00 to 3:00.
  4. What Inspires You Blog – Lauren/Kristi/Christopher to update –on hold until training for participants scheduled.

 

 

  1. Scheduled and Upcoming 2020 “in person” Events:
    1. Homegrown Book and Art Fair – Kim lead – Barefoot to sponsor along with Point Bookshop.  Held  October 10 from 1pm to 5pm in the Municipal lot.  Kim to recap.
    2. Coastal Co-op – Mary Ellen Savage – possible children’s art program in studio. Mary Ellen to schedule and provide details.
    3. Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? – Joylene to lead – Contest to start November 1.  Joylene to update.
    4. Downtown Gallery – Lauren, Kristi and Laurie to work with Kristen O’Rourke to identify storefronts on Arnold and Bay to display artwork. Next steps will be to build committees to source artists and work.
    5. PROPOSED collaboration with Recreation Committee to sponsor a “Winter Wonderland” in Silver Lake parking lot. Doug Vitale (Rec Cttee) suggested that our two committees work together for this event – discussions to follow.
    6. 2020 Gala – Joylene lead – POSTPONED – NEW DATE TO BE DETERMINED – Joylene updated FB with press release announcing the postponement of the Gala that had been rescheduled to November 14, 2020 to Spring of 2021. Need to identify and secure venue and date.

 

  1. Murals – Jim to update. Stella Luna completed and Jaegar work in progress.  RFP’s to be sent to artists.
  2. Point Beach Arts Committee website – Christopher lead – Christopher will update on showcasing the back end of the Committee website and training.
