  5. Social Media Report – Deb Smith – discuss our spending budget vs. success of events.
  6. Recap of 2020 Year to Date Events:
    1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Winter Dinner & Movie – Kim lead.  Held March 7th at 6pm to 9pm.  Surf Taco donating dinner and Barefoot Realty sponsoring.

 

  1. Upcoming 2020 Events::
    1. 2020 Gala – Joylene lead – date locked in for March 21st.    Joylene to update.
    2. Juried Art Show – Carmelina lead, Lisa Lewis co lead–   Carmelina and Lisa to update.
    3. Photography Classes – Carmelina lead.  Venue other than Library and advertising options.   Discuss further in April.
    4. Children’s Educational Programs – Sonya lead. Venue VVG, first event April 5th from 1pm to 3pm.
    5. Spoken Word Festival – James lead.  Date locked in for April 24 to coincide with National Poetry Month.  Locations to be VVG and Ocean County Music.  Any updates on title of event and performers?
    6. Easter Egg Painting Partnering with Jenks – Sonya lead to work with Alex Taylor.  Jenks Easter events scheduled for April 11 and 12, 2020. Any updates on specific date?
    7. Rock Painting in Spring – Kristi lead.  Rte. 34 Gravel to donate rocks.  Need to be picked up and cleaned – possibly look to have delivered for minimal cost?  Any updates from Art Teachers?
    8. Murals – Jim lead.  Mural on wall next to Train Station – completed – shared on Social Media.  Good response.  Building behind Joe Leone’s on calendar to be done as well in spring of 2020.  Any updates on the Beritazza artist? Any new murals planned for Jenks?
    9. Paint At Bandshell – Mary Ellen and Penny leads.  Will resume when nice weather starts.  Advertise on Social Media in Spring.  Targeted start in May through the fall.
    10. Talent Show – Jackie lead. Will work on concept after the gala.
    11. First Night 2021 – Disused at February meeting.  Any interest, what timeframe?

 

  1. Ideas for permanent structure to hold “Locks of Love”.  Possible location for new structure to be East side of inlet parking lot by new trees.  New structure could be cost prohibitive, though given lack of funding available.  Did the Council vote? 
  2. Storage of equipment – DONE!!! 
  3. Social Media Marketing and Advertising – Deb Smith lead – Streamlining how we handle social media marketing, put process in place to simplify.

Payment process is set up and each event needs budget approval for social media.    

  1. Offshore BBQ wanting to place local artists in new restaurant.  Any updates?
  2. Graphic Arts Student as intern for us. Kristi coordinating with school. Any updates
  3. Change of venue for upcoming Arts Committee Meetings – meetings to continue to be held on Mondays.  April meeting to be held at Point Lobster Bar & Grill (RSVP required so they can reserve a table).  May meeting to be held at Hollston Office.  Possibly B2 for June (confirm with Deb), and VVG for July and Crossroads Reality in August (Lauren to confirm with Sonya and Lisa, respectively).
