  6.   2019 events:
    1. Snowman Decorating Contest – Laura, Jackie and Joylene leads.   Recap/Report from Members.
  7. Upcoming 2020 Events to be put on calendar:
    1. 2020 Gala – Joylene lead – date locked in for March 21st.    Ticket price will be $65 p/p.  Theme will be Black and White Masquerade.   Joylene sent out Sign Up Genius for volunteers for sub committees, Laurie resent.    Volunteers on board? 
    2. Juried Art ShowCarmelina lead, Lisa Lewis co lead–   Will accept open submissions, but judge what is submitted and only display “Best of Show” at Gala.  Juried Art Show reception to be held at The White Sands on April 16thth
    3. Winter Dinner & MovieKim lead.  To be held in February date TBD.  Halfway to Summer theme. 
    4. Photography Classes – Carmelina lead.  Venue other than Library and advertising options.   Spring?
    5. Spoken Word Festival – James lead.  Suggested to hold in April 2020 to coincide with National Poetry Month.  Any new ideas or progress?
    6. Easter Egg Painting Partnering with Jenks – Sonya lead to work with Alex Taylor.  Jenks Easter events scheduled for April 11 and 12, 2020.
    7. Rock Painting in Spring – Kristi lead.  Rte. 34 Gravel to donate rocks.  Need to be picked up and cleaned – possibly look to have delivered for minimal cost? 
    8. Murals – Jim lead.  Mural on wall next to Train Station – completed – shared on Social Media.  Good response.  Building behind Joe Leone’s on calendar to be done as well in spring of 2020.  Any new murals planned for Jenks?
    9. Paint At Bandshell – Mary Ellen and Penny leads.  Will resume when nice weather starts.  Advertise on Social Media in Spring. 

 

  1. Ideas for permanent structure to hold “Locks of Love”.  Possible location for new structure to be East side of inlet parking lot by new trees.  New structure could be cost prohibitive, though given lack of funding available.  Any new ideas or updates? 
  2. Storage of equipment – Availability of Boro Hall Basement – date? – any final news?
  3. Marianne England – invite Chairperson of Metuchen Arts Committee to one of our meetings. 
  4. Website – Infrastructure and website development progress – use of SLACK.   – Christopher lead, Deb and Carmelina assisting
  5. Marketing and Advertising – Deb Smith lead – Streamlining how we handle marketing, put process in place to simplify. How to handle paid advertising on FB?/G?   Artist spotlight on FB and Instagram.
