Point Beach Arts Meeting Agenda

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

The meeting schedule for the 2021 Arts Committee meetings have been confirmed to take place on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00p.   Until further notice, all meetings will take place via Zoom.  The dates of our meetings in 2021 are:

 

January 11, 2021,  February 8, 2021,  March 8, 2021,  April 12, 2021,  May 10, 2021,  June 14, 2021,  July 12, 2021,  August 9, 2021,  September 13, 2021,  October 11, 2021, November 8, 2021 and December 13, 2021.

 

 

 

  1. Chairperson’s Remarks
  2. Vice Chair’s Remarks
  3. Treasurer – no report as role needs to be filled.
  4. Secretary’s Remarks and approval of past meeting minutes.

 

  1. 2020 Previously Scheduled Events:

 

  1. Juried Art Show – Carmelina and Lisa leads. Moved to a Virtual event.  Carmelina and Lisa to update if needed. Judging took place and winners were announced.  People’s choice award to be decided.
  2. Adobe Light Room Class – free virtual event held on December 10, 2020. Carmelina to update.
  3. What Inspires You Blog – Lauren/Kristi/Christopher to update –on hold until training for participants scheduled.
  4. Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? – Joylene  lead – Event was posted online and shared.   Winners were named.  Joylene to update.

 

 

  1. Scheduled and Upcoming 2021 “in person” Events:
    1. Coastal Co-op – Mary Ellen Savage – possible children’s art program in studio. Mary Ellen to schedule and provide details.
    2. Downtown Gallery – Lauren, Kristi and Laurie to work with Kristen O’Rourke to identify storefronts on Arnold and Bay to display artwork. Next steps will be to build committees to source artists and work. Progress?
    3. Valentine’s Day “Heart Display” – any progress or new ideas?
    4. Spoken Work Event – James Dalton lead. He will present two ideas for consideration for the event thought to be held in April 2021.
    5. 2021 Gala – Joylene lead – POSTPONED – NEW DATE TO BE DETERMINED – Joylene updated FB with press release announcing the postponement of the Gala that had been rescheduled to November 14, 2020 to Spring of 2021. Need to identify and secure venue and date.  Is this date still realistic?

 

  1. Murals – Jim to update. Possible mural on the White Sands.
  2. Point Beach Arts Committee website – Christopher lead – Christopher will update on showcasing the back end of the Committee website and training.
  3. New business – ideas for events in 2021 and other business.
  4. Adjournment
