Point Beach Arts Meeting Agenda

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

The Executive Committee and the Members/Volunteers of the Point Beach Arts Committee would like to acknowledge the passing of its Treasurer and Founding Member, Marianne England.  Marianne was a valued Member and good friend of the Committee and will be greatly missed.  The entire Committee sends its condolences to the England family.

 

The Executive Committee wishes to send its heartfelt thanks to Carmelina Carra, Chairperson of the 2020 Juried Art Show.  Carmelina, along with JAS  Co Chairperson Lisa Lewis, worked to move this event from an in person to a virtual event.  Their efforts and dedication resulted in a successful 2020 Juried Art Show.  In addition, thank you to Christopher Corcoran for his efforts to upload all art work online so that the event could go virtual.  JOB WELL DONE by all!

  4. Secretary’s Remarks and approval of past meeting minutes  – Need for all Committee members and volunteers to view “Protecting Children from Abuse” video and complete a sign in sheet.  Details sent separately.

 

  1. 2020 Scheduled and Proposed Virtual Events:

 

  1. Juried Art Show – Carmelina and Lisa leads. Moved to a Virtual event.  Carmelina and Lisa to update. Judging took place and winners were announced.
  2. Adobe Light Room Class – free virtual event to be held on December 10, 2020. Carmelina to update.
  3. What Inspires You Blog – Lauren/Kristi/Christopher to update –on hold until training for participants scheduled.

 

 

  1. Scheduled and Upcoming 2020 and 2021 “in person” Events:
    1. Coastal Co-op – Mary Ellen Savage – possible children’s art program in studio. Mary Ellen to schedule and provide details.
    2. Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? – Joylene to lead – Event was posted online and shared.   Have forms been taken out of storage and brought to Barefoot?  How many sign ups?
    3. Downtown Gallery – Lauren, Kristi and Laurie to work with Kristen O’Rourke to identify storefronts on Arnold and Bay to display artwork. Next steps will be to build committees to source artists and work. Progress?
    4. Valentine’s Day “Heart Display” – any progress or new ideas?
    5. Spoken Work Event – James Dalton lead. He will present two ideas for consideration for the event thought to be held in April 2021.
    6. 2020 Gala – Joylene lead – POSTPONED – NEW DATE TO BE DETERMINED – Joylene updated FB with press release announcing the postponement of the Gala that had been rescheduled to November 14, 2020 to Spring of 2021. Need to identify and secure venue and date.  Is this date still realistic?

 

  1. Murals – Jim to update. Possible mural on the White Sands.
  2. Point Beach Arts Committee website – Christopher lead – Christopher will update on showcasing the back end of the Committee website and training.
  3. New business – ideas for events in 2021 and other business.
  4. Adjournment
