Point Beach Arts Meeting Agenda

Announcement:  Meeting Venues for the remainder of 2021 are:  Sept 13–  Bam Bam Burger, Oct 11 –  Gottlieb Building, Nov 8 – The Ark Pub & Eatery, Dec 13 –TBD.

  5. Past Events and Recap:
    1. “100 Shore Things” – Melissa Hood to lead and collaborate with local photographers, demos, social media posts with 100 paintings from April through July and culminating with a final Beach pARTy Art Festival to showcase all 100 artworks as a collection.
    2. Beach pARTy – Kristi to lead co-hosted with Chamber – Evening Art Festival by the Sea., date is July 22nd with rain date of July 29th.

 

  1. Scheduled and Upcoming 2021 events:
    1. Tile Fundraiser – Kim in beginning stages of putting together a fundraiser – tiles to be painted and then digitally displayed at Food Shack.    Preliminary discussions for event this summer.
    2. October First Friday – Arts Committee to sponsor town First Friday, October 1, 2021
    3. Homegrown Harvest Fall Festival – to be held October 24. Art and Rec Committees along with The Chamber to come together to collectively sponsor town event to include scarecrow contest, pumpkin carvings, etc.
    4. Winter Wonderland Festival – to be held December 11. Collaborative effort to sponsor with the Rec Committee and The Chamber.
    5. Talent Contest – possible collaboration with the Senior Committee
    6. 2021 Gala – look to rebrand and hold in 2022

 

  1. #POINTmetotheBEACH – new hashtag to be used town wide. Arts Cttee worked with Adapting Social and the Chamber to come up with new hashtag to be used town wide when promoting or talking about PPB.
  2. Social Media and Website – Working with Adapting Social. All events and notices will be posted by them going forward.
  3. Murals –  Preparing for murals to be placed on several locations through PPB. Recreation Building in Pleasure Park in progress, ReMax Building on Bay Avenue completed.   Next up, new Bay Ave eatery, Bam Bam Burger and White Sands Hotel.
  4. New business – ideas for events in 2021 and 2022 and other business.
  5. Adjournment
