Notice to Residents & Visitors: Tropical Storm Isaias

With the approach of Tropical Storm Isaias residents and visitors are asked to secure all outside items such as: lawn furniture, grills with gas tanks, portable basketball nets and any items that wind can blow around or that would float and cause damage to property.

Make plans to get elderly and vulnerable populations to safe areas as emergency response personnel may not be able to get to them during and immediately after the storm.

Move vehicles to higher ground in flood prone areas such as: Channel Dr, Inlet Dr, Randall Ave, Ocean Ave North of Forman, Arnold Ave, Central Ave, Parkway, Niblick St, Homestead, Princeton, Seymour, Yale, Sanborn, Harvard Ave. Broadway and all East of Chicago Ave.  The Rail Road Parking Lot is open at no charge for vehicles moved.

The Silver Lake and Lake of the Lilies have been lowered to act as a buffer for storm water.

Vehicles damaged or floated into the roadway will be towed.  Secure boats – both on land and in the water.  Gas Cans can float or turnover in garages causing hazardous and environmental conditions.

Store pool chemicals such as: chlorine and shock in high places, but not inside.

Prepare for power outages that may be prolonged for hours or even days.

Phone and cellular phone service may be interrupted as well as internet services.
