Amendment #2 to Original State of Emergency dated 3-16-20
 
WHEREAS, the Coronavirus has continued to increase with both the infection and fatality rate in Ocean County and;

WHEREAS, visitors traveling to Point Pleasant Beach continue to disregard the Governor’s essential travel restrictions, the CDC and NJ Department of Health guidelines for social distancing and;

WHEREAS, the Mayors, Chiefs of Police and OEM Directors from the Boroughs of Point Pleasant Beach, Bay Head and Mantoloking have jointly and unanimously decided that all beaches in our respective towns must close. 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Paul L Kanitra, Mayor of Point Pleasant Beach and I, Guy Dempsey, Emergency Management Coordinator for the Borough Point Pleasant Beach here-by DECLARE:  effective April 3, 2020, all beaches are closed to the general public.   This proclamation excludes beach maintenance and construction projects.
 
We will continue to work together with understanding and patience realizing that this event is continuously evolving and know that we the Mayor, Police Chief, OEM Coordinator and other Borough Officials are looking out for the overall health, safety, and welfare of all the residents and visitors of the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach.

This order shall take effect, April 3, 2020, and shall remain in effect, unless specifically stated, until such time it is determined by me an emergency no longer exists.
