Attention Residents & Visitors:
Due to a mistake by the Ocean County Health Department, we were told yesterday that there was a positive COVID-19 case here in Point Pleasant Beach. We have now received clarification that it is in Point Pleasant Boro instead. We feel strongly for our close neighbors and recognize that only a mile or so separates the two of our communities. We continue to prepare as if it will soon be in Point Pleasant Beach, but for now that is not the case.
Effective immediately, our parks will be closed and playgrounds will be cordoned off to stop the possible transmission of the virus via the surfaces of the various equipment.
Additionally, we are strongly urging that tourists please temporarily avoid visiting our boardwalk and residents to exercise extreme caution if the boardwalk becomes crowded. There will be no bathroom facilities open, no restaurants, bars or amusements. With social distancing so important, our narrow boardwalk simply cannot contain any crowds of size and still leave enough safe room for everyone to avoid close contact. Maryland Ave Beach access remains open. Please keep 5-6 feet between your family and others while visiting there and elsewhere in town.
Stay tuned for more information as the situation continues to evolve and thank you for your understanding.
