Beach Replenishment update from the US Army Corp of Engineers:

As per the US Army Corp, the anticipated start day in Point Pleasant Beach is April 7th; latest start date of April 19th. They will be bringing in equipment along the beach. From the discharge pipe dropped at Makin Ave, they will be headed north first, turn and head south to the outfall structure. Then, they will land at Karge Street in Bay Head, and pump north to the outfall in PPB.
Philadelphia Ave will be the initial access point, then when the beach fill is complete North of New York Ave, they will use Maryland Ave for access.
Materials and Equipment will be left on the beach where they are working and orange fence will be used to deter access to this equipment.
Safety Officers will be present 24 hours, and any equipment moving on the beach will have escorts.
There will be a 1000’ exclusion zone in the active work area. There will be no access for the public inside or behind the construction zone.
The dozers will be working 24/7, with deliveries limited between 8am and 6pm.
Anyone with private property in the construction zone, such as a deck, furniture, etc. will be provided a window of time to remove property or they will be removing and disposing of same.
Crossover work will begin within 2 weeks of the access point being completed.
They will be monitoring for vibrations to determine if any damage thresholds are violated. They also caution the possibility of temporary increase in water volume which may affect home owners’ basements if any in that area.
Dune grass will be planted in late November with sand fence to be installed prior to planting.
Anticipated completion date is early June.
